TVXQ, a leader of Hallyu (standing for kpop wave over the world), have added their new history in Japan. TVXQ have ended their nationwide live tour in Japan on Apr 23rd since beginning in January. The tour has kicked off in Yokohama and then continued in Nagoya, Fukuoka, and more for the last three months. It was supposed to hold a concert 20 times but finally confirmed to hold a concert 26 times thanks to overwhelming support. TVXQ have set a new record, gathering 550,000 audiences with all concerts 26 times sold out. Any Korean singer except TVXQ has never gathered audiences more than 500,000 in Japan until now, even TVXQ's concert has been held 26 times. TVXQ have reached highest cumulative audiences in Japan. The sales are also tremendous. According to SM Entertainment, the ticket sales are about 76 billion won(Korean currency), and the total of sales are about 96 billion won(Korean currency) including TVXQ tour tickets and merchandise for the last three months. 대표적인 한류그룹 동방신기가 일본에서 한류의 역사를 새롭게 썼습니다. 지난 1월부터 시작된 동방신기의 일본 투어 콘서트가 지난 주말을 끝으로 화려한 막을 내렸는데요. 석 달간에 걸친 이번 일본 투어는 요코하마를 시작으로 나고야, 후쿠오카 등 9개 도시에서 펼쳐졌습니다. 당초 스무 번의 공연으로 진행될 예정이었지만, 현지 팬들의 폭발적인 반응에 힘입어서 여섯 번이 추가됐다고 합니다. 동방신기는 스물여섯 번의 공연을 모두 전석 매진시키면서 55만 명의 관객을 동원하는 기록을 세웠는데요. 지금까지 일본에서 공연을 펼친 그 어떤 국내 가수도 50만 명 이상의 관객을 모은 적은 없다고 하네요. 어쨌든 공연 횟수가 많긴 했지만요. 누적관객수로 볼 때 일본 공연 사상 최대 관객 동원이라는 기록을 세운 셈이죠. 이번에 벌어들인 수익도 어마어마합니다. 소속사인 SM 측에 따르면, 티켓 판매금액이 760억 원 정도 되고요. 여기에 콘서트 현장에서 판매된 캐릭터 상품 수익금까지 더하면 석 달 동안의 투어기간 동안 자그마치 960억 원의 수익을 올렸다고 합니다. 정말 대단합니다. 한류의 새 역사를 쓴 동방신기!! 한국으로 돌아와 당분간 휴식을 취한 뒤 앞으로는 새 앨범 준비에 집중할 계획이라고 합니다.
