[TRANS] 131025 TVXQ Are Sitting On A Pile Of Money… Add 9 Billion Won In DVD Sales To Their 90 Billion Won Tour!

TVXQ have added to the pile of money they amassed during their 90 billion Won tour with sales from their concert DVD.

The group released their ‘TVXQ Live Tour 2013 ~TIME~’ DVD on the 23rd and topped the music DVD and overall DVD daily charts on Oricon with a total of 92,623 copies sold. The DVD contains live footage from their performance at Tokyo Dome in June.

TVXQ became the first Korean singers to hold a Five Dome Tour in Japan (Sapporo, Nagoya, Fukuoka Yahoo, Osaka Kyocera, Tokyo) and became the first foreign singers to hold a concert at Yokohama’s Nissan Stadium for their grand finale. They attracted a total of 850,000 fans to their 18 performances and broke the record for the most audience members attending a single tour.

The average price for tickets was 9,800 Yen, with the total sales from tickets alone adding up to 8.33 billion Yen (approximately 90.4 billion Won). With the price of the DVD being four times the price of a single at 8,400 Yen (91,000 Won), they earned approximately 778 million Yen (8.5 billion Won) in a single day of sales. This means that TVXQ have been able to earn 100 billion Won in a single tour through ticket sales and DVD sales.

JYJ’s Kim Junsu has been chosen as ‘the idol who will be most loved by his mother-in-law for his aegyo (cuteness)’.

The online community DC Inside held a survey called “Which male idol will be loved by his mother-in-law for his signature cuteness?” from the 3rd till the 10th of September, and Kim Junsu came out on top with 32.8% of the votes (574 votes).

This seems to be a result of the cute and lovable personality that Kim Junsu has shown to his fans and members over the years.

Kim Junsu was followed by SHINee’s Taemin, who is showcasing his youthful charm on MBC’s ‘We Got Married’, with 12.8% and Big Bang’s Seung Ri with 8.7% of the votes.

TVXQ’s recently released single ‘SCREAM’ has come in at second place on the Oricon Weekly Charts.

According to the Oricon Charts, TVXQ’s 38th single ‘SCREAM’ sold 134,304 copies in the past week (September 2nd~September 8th) and came in at second place on the weekly charts.

First place went to AKB48′s sister group HKT48 with 268,897 copies of their ‘Melon Juice’ single sold, and third place went to AAA with 37,795 copies sold of their single.

Having released their single on the 4th, TVXQ entered the daily charts in second place and have been fighting with HKT48 for the top spot over the past week.

TVXQ’s latest single is their first in three months since their June single ‘OCEAN’, and has already been chosen as the theme song for various TV programs and the Japanese horror film ‘Sadako 3D’.

The group will also be releasing ‘TVXQ LIVE TOUR 2013 ~TIME~’, the live recording DVD of their Five Dome tour in Japan, on the 23rd of October.

Meanwhile, IU released her third single ‘Monday Afternoon’ on the 11th and entered the daily charts at ninth place.

Hallyu group TVXQ have taken the number one spot on the Oricon Charts in just two days since releasing their latest Japanese single.

According to the Oricon Charts, TVXQ’s 38th single ‘SCREAM’, which was released on the 4th, sold an additional 56,316 copies and topped the daily singles charts.

TVXQ entered the charts in second place after losing to ‘Melon Juice’ by HKT48, the sister group of AKB48, but topped the charts on the second day by selling more than three times as much as HKT48. TVXQ have sold a total of 113,386 copies in two days and have proven yet again just how popular they are in Japan.

As the first song in three months since their June-released single ‘Ocean’, ‘SCREAM’ has already been chosen as the OST of ‘Sadako 3D 2′, and as the theme song of various programs such as ‘Hiruobi’ and ‘MUSIC BB’.

TVXQ will be releasing their ‘TVXQ LIVE TOUR 2013 ~TIME~’ live recording DVD on the 23rd of October.

Kim Jaejoong won the Hallyu Drama OST Award at the ‘Seoul Drama Awards’.

The ’2013 8th Seoul Drama Awards’ was held on the 5th at 5:10pm at the Haeoreum Theater in the Seoul National Theater.

The winner of the Hallyu Drama OST Award was announced by Baek Ji Young, the ‘Queen of OSTs’. Beating out stiff competition, Kim Jaejoong won the award with his Dr. Jin OST ‘Even When I’m Awake, It Feels Like A Dream’.

Kim Jaejoong was followed with the cheers of his fans as he stepped on stage and began his acceptance speech by saying, “A lot of people came to see me. Thank you.”

He continued to state, “It’s quite strange but nice to be receiving a OST award for a drama I appeared in. Thank you.”

He also added, “The song is great. Even I think it is,” and “I would like to thank Composer Lim Dong Gyun, who composed the song, as well as me, Jaejoong. I believe I have just received a great award at a meaningful event, and I’d like to thank everyone who came to show their support.”

The ‘Seoul Drama Awards’ have made its mark as a global drama awards ceremony with 225 productions from 48 countries mentioned.

The ’2013 Seoul Drama Awards’ was hosted by Lee Sung Jae and miss A’s Suzy, and was aired by MBC. It was also aired in 120 countries through Daum, Ustream and YouTube.

Idol group TVXQ’s Jung Yunho received the Netizen Popularity Award.

Jung Yunho won the Netizen Popularity Award at the ’2013 Seoul Drama Awards’ for his role in the SBS drama ‘Queen of Ambition’.

The singer was unable to attend the event due to a scheduling conflict and had to make his acceptance speech through a video instead. He began by stating, “I heard that I was receiving this award as the representative of Korea, and I find that to be very meaningful.”

Jung Yunho continued to say, “Most of all, I would like to thank our staff and my seniors. They truly felt like family to me. I’d like to thank them for helping me out so much as I’m only a rookie. [NEWS] 130508 TVXQ to celebrate 10 year anniversary this year, opened the doors for idols who followed

TVXQ debuted in back 2003, and they’ve come an incredibly long way.

The legendary group will be meeting their 10th anniversary this year in December, and now the boys men are more than just singers. Korean media outlet Newsen recently wrote an article chronicling how much the group has achieved over the years.

Yunho and Changmin have been active in both dramas and variety shows, and they’ve spread out from just Korea and Japan to all over the world.

Yunho has been sometimes criticized for his acting, but he showed much improvement in the recent drama, ‘Queen of Ambition‘. In the past, Changmin was never active in variety shows, but that’s changed recently and he has been a permanent panel member of ‘Moonlight Prince‘ and ‘Our Neighborhood Arts and Physical Education‘.

They then went onto create a record for themselves with a 5-dome tour in Japan, attracting 850,000 fans. They’re also have the privilege of being the first foreign artist to perform at the 72,300 seat Nissan Stadium. Of course, after that they’ll be heading toward the rest of the globe with their world tour.

It can’t be said that their road had some bumps along the way. They experienced the biggest pain when they split into halves with JYJ and TVXQ. But still, all five (even those who aren’t active under the TVXQ name anymore) broke out the road of ‘idol-dom’ for countless hoobaes that would follow in their steps.

TVXQ seems to have been born to break records, as they’ve done it once again in Japan! This time, they’ve set another record as they’re scheduled to bring in a jaw dropping 850,000 audience count for their Japan Dome tour.

In addition, TVXQ will be the first ever international artists to perform at Japan’s prestigious Nissan Stadium on August 17th and 18th (these two dates were added just recently). The stadium has been the place for only the top artists in Japan including, X-Japan, SMAP, L’ArcenCiel, and EXILE, and can hold up to 75,000 people in the audience.

With these additional two dates at the Nissan Stadium, the duo will bring in a total of 850,000 fans for their tour, breaking their own record as well as being the first Korean artist to bring in such a number.

In related news, TVXQ will also unveil their new single “OCEAN” (to be released this June) for the first time during the tour.
