More than 7,000 Japanese tourists will come to Korea in order to see group JYJ. Around 10 Billion Won is the expected effect in Korea’s economy, proving tremendous power of Hallyu tourism.
7024 Japanese fans will go to Korea for 4 days to attend the 2012 JYJ Membership week in SETEC, Gangnam-gu. The number of arriving foreigners simultaneously for a single event has been identified as the largest ever. More than 7,000 fans will be staying in Korea for 4 days and 3 nights.
According to the Korea National Tourism Organization, Japanese tourists travelling to Korea for 3 days spend around 1,200 USD (1.4M KRW) for eating, sleeping, and shopping. If you enjoy shopping and sightseeing, the amount can be significantly higher.
Officials from C-JES management stated that this is the largest single-event ever held, thus earning a new record in tourism industry.
Japanese fans will start to arrive on June 27 and 28 from 14 airports throughout Japan in 116 flights. 3,500 rooms are booked for accommodation in Seoul, Incheon, Suwon, etc.
The JYJ Membership week is the first attempt in the country with more than 15,000 Korean fans and 7,000 fans in attending. Fan meetings will be held on June 30 and July 1.
