JYJ’s Kim Jae Joong is drawing a lot of attention by ranking high on every Japanese chart.

Japanese magazine Anan recently did a survey asking, “What is your favorite Hallyu TV series?” SBS’s Protect The Boss, in which Kim appeared, ranked first.

Kim also ranked third, following Hyun Bin, on the survey of ‘Japanese women’s favorite Korean actor.’

The fashion magazine, which sells around 300 thousand copies every week since 1970, is well known as a publication that features the top stars. The magazine is also very popular among girls from their 20s through 30s.

The series was aired on Japanese TBS in July and received considerable attention. The ‘Protect The Boss Kim Jae Joong Special Making DVD,’ which will be released in November, ranked first on a chart as soon as they started to receiving reservation offers.

A Japanese official says, “Kim has many fans who love him in Japan. His series made him even more popular all cross the country.”

Kim will start going on an Asian fan meeting tour on October 20 in China.

For K-Drama fans in Japan, it’s all about Kim Jae Joong, as revealed in a recent poll.

Japanese magazine, AnAn recently held a survey asking readers to vote on their favorite hallyu drama so far. AnAn is a popular women’s magazine targeting females in their 20s to 30s and has been in publication since 1970.
The results of the survey put Kim Jae Joong’s SBS drama, Protect the Boss in first, showing, once more, his widespread popularity in the island nation. Following behind were the dramas Secret Garden and My Name is Kim Sam Soon.

Protect the Boss began airing on TBS in Japan and enjoyed widespread popularity in Japan. The special making-DVD for the drama also took first place in the pre-order charts for DVDs beginning on the first day of pre-orders.

An industry insider in Japan commented on the popularity of Kim Jae Joong saying, “Kim Jae Joong already had many fans [in Japan]. However, with Protect the Boss gaining popularity in all of Japan, Kim Jae Joong attracted the popularity of the younger demographic making him a popular hallyu actor.”
Kim Jae Joong is set to kick off an Asia fan meet tour beginning on October 20.

JYJ‘s Jaejoong is proving his popularity in Japan through polls.

The Japanese magazine ‘Ang Ang‘ recently ran a poll titled, “The Korean drama you like the best“. TheSBS drama “Protect the Boss” that featured Jaejoong came in 1st. Jaejoong also ranked 3rd in the poll, “The Korean male actor that Japanese women like the most“.

Jaejoong’s “Protect the Boss” aired on Japan’s TBS in July. It has been met with a hot response, and has played on the main channels in many districts across Japan. Additionally, the Jaejoong-special making DVD for “Protect the Boss” reached #1 in pre-orders in just one day. A Japanese TV representative stated, “Jaejoong has a large fan base and ‘Protect the Boss’ became very popular all across Japan. Jaejoong is a popular Hallyu actor who receives much love from the youth.“
