[NEWS] 130204 JYJ is the Group Japanese Women Want to Give Chocolates To the Most

Tuesday, February 5, 2013
JYJ may be getting a bunch of chocolates from Japan for Valentine′s Day, because JYJ has been chosen as the group Japanese women want to give chocolates to the most.

Mpost, a Japanese site dedicated to the Korean wave, held a poll that had 1,000 female Japanese hallyu fans from ages 10 to 70 choose which hallyu group they would like to give chocolates to on Valentine′s Day.

JYJ emerged as no. 1, with 71.6 percent of the total votes.

In a similar poll that asked for individual group members instead of a group in whole, Kim Jae Joong, Kim Junsu and Park Yoo Chun promptly took over the top three ranks in order, proving JYJ was indeed the most popular Korean male group in Japan.

Code-V, which debuted in Japan in 2012, landed in second place behind JYJ, while TVXQ (DBSK) was in close pursuit at no. 3. Super Junior, Supernova and CN Blue could also be found on the list.

The site reported on the results, "It′s a complete win on the part of JYJ. That the group managed to retain this much popularity even without promotions in Japan is extraordinary."

Kim Jae Joong has especially appeared on the top of many Valentine′s Day related polls since he made his debut in Japan. He was the Korean male artist that Japanese women would like to give chocolates to on Valentine′s Day in a Tower Records poll in 2012, and in 2011 he also ranked high in a Valentine′s Day releated poll by Japan′s Music Walk along with idol member Tomohisa Yamashita and the Arashi members.
