Top idols JYJ’s Park Yuchun and Big Bang’s T.O.P (real name, Choi Seung-hyun) are announced to act on the big screen after one another. Although their main professions are as singers, they do acting at the same time and the two are expected to each appear in ‘Sea Fog’ (director Shim Sung-bo) and ‘Tazza 2′ (director Kang Hyung-chul), respectively.
Park Yuchun will be making his big screen debut through ‘Sea Fog’, which has ‘Snowpiercer”s director Bong Joon-ho attempting next to produce for the first time. Acting with the older senior Kim Yoon-seok, Yuchun is expected to transform into playing an impressive and attractive character. Based on the original stage play with the same title, and regarded as one of Chungmuro’s anticipated films, the movie depicts a crew’s life and love aboard a smuggling ship out at sea.
In ‘Sea Fog’ Park Yuchun will portray sailor Dong-shik while Kim Yoon-seok as the captain of the smuggling ship’s crew. To protect for love and filled with boldness from going against the captain, he is a tough and stubborn yet attractive character full of charisma. People have vicariously watched a number of TV dramas because of Park Yuchun’s acting and entertainment power while proving even more that his big screen debut is anticipated to create strong receptions.
A Chungmuro representative stated, “Park Yuchun and Choi Seung-hyun are rare examples among the idol singers who can really act properly,” saying, “apart from their fandom and stardom, their acting skills also are receiving high evaluations compared to and up against actual actors. Which is the reason to why many producers are paying attention to the two.”
Meanwhile ‘Sea Fog’ and ‘Tazza 2′ will shoot alongside of one another in September-October.
