JYJ’s Kim Jun-su is set to release his debut solo album in May and will tour Asia on his own, CJeS Entertainment said yesterday.
The singer played an integral role in the production and composition of many of the songs in the upcoming album, which is comprised of a diverse range of genres that includes dance and R&B.
“We won’t reveal the album’s concept or title just yet, but we anticipate that the record will be one of the best K-pop albums to be released in the first half of this year,” the agency said.
Kim entered the K-pop scene in 2004 with boy band TVXQ. He reached Hallyu stardom with his band members and recently returned from touring South America with other JYJ members.
The singer known for his distinct husky voice is also currently starring in the musical “Elisabeth” alongside Oak Joo-hyun, who has appeared in several musicals including “Aida,” “Chicago” and “Cats.”

JYJ’s Junsu will release his first solo studio album in May. This would be his first solo effort, since debuting in 2004.
JYJ’s agency CJ-eS Entertainment stated, “Junsu will release his first studio solo album in May. Along with the release of his first album, he will also go on an Asia Tour. There are high expecations for Junsu’s upcominng album, especially since JYJ’s World Tour was a great success.”
Junsu will be involved in all aspects of the production of the album. He will be writing most of the songs, proving his musical skills. The album will consist of various genres including dance, ballad, and R&B. Junsu’s fellow members Jaejoong and Yoochun will be contributing their self-composed songs as well.
The CEO of CJ-eS Entertainment proudly stated, “Junsu is one of the most valuable artists in Korea. With his unparalleled and highly acclaimed singing/dancing/songwriting skills, he will dominate the entire music industry in the first half of this year.
Junsu will have his own concerts in Korea and six other Asian countries. His first concert will be held in Seoul on May 19 and 20, and continue throughout cities including Thailand, Macao, Indonesia, Taiwan, and Shanghai.
Meanwhile, Junsu has been in participating in musical shows such as “Mozart,” and “Tears of Heaven.”
